Violation of any portion of this chapter shall be a misdemeanor. Upon conviction of a violation of this chapter, the defendant shall be subject to penalty as provided in § 10.99 of this code. The conviction of an agent for violation of this chapter shall not bar conviction of the principal nor shall conviction of a principal bar the conviction of an agent, if a person is charged.
