§ 151.06 PUBLIC TREE CARE.
The village shall have the right to plant, prune, maintain, and remove trees, plants, or other shrubs within the lines of all streets, alleys, other public thoroughfares, or public grounds, as may be necessary to ensure public safety, or to preserve or enhance the symmetry and beauty of such public grounds. The Village Tree Board may remove, or cause or order to be removed, any tree, or part thereof, which is in unsafe condition or which, by reason of its nature, is injurious to sewers, electric power lines, gas lines, waterlines, or other public improvements, or is infected with any injurious fungus, insect, or other pest. This section does not prohibit the planting of street trees by adjacent property owners; provided that the selection and location of said trees is in accordance with §§ 151.03 through 151.07. Any person desiring to plant street tree/trees must obtain a street tree planting permit at the cost of $10 from the Village Tree Board. The permit form will be available at the office of the Village Fiscal Officer.
