§ 90.15 BURNING OF TRASH, RUBBISH PROHIBITED.
   It shall be unlawful for any person or persons to burn, or set fire to, any leaves, garbage, rubbish, paper, or any other combustible material of any kind in any street, lane, alley, lot, yard, or any public or private ground in the village, except in the following divisions.
   (A)   The owner or occupier of land may, for recreational use and/or cooking use, have a contained fire in a fire pit or burn ring, and may not be within ten feet of any structure. The fire pit or burn ring is not to exceed three feet in length and three feet in width square, or a three feet in diameter circle, and may only burn natural burning materials in no more than a 12-inch high burn ring, or 12-inch deep burn pit. There shall be an attendant of at least 18 years of age at all times of the live fire. Anyone who leases or rents the land on which a camp or recreational fire may be used must have prior written permission from the owner of said property. Burning time shall be Monday through Thursday from 12:00 p.m. to 12:00 a.m. for no more than six consecutive hours, and Friday through Sunday from 6:00 a.m. to 12:00 a.m. for no more than six consecutive hours.
   (B)   In the event the Chief, Assistant Chief, or Fire Inspector of the JSP Joint Fire District deems the open fire to be unsafe or a nuisance to the neighborhood, the owner or occupier of the premises, and/or attendant of the fire, shall immediately extinguish such fire or the JSP Joint Fire District may extinguish the fire at the discretion of the officer in charge.
