Any person who disregards, disobeys or fails to observe any traffic sign or signs regulating traffic within the city, such as stop signs, signs limiting parking of motor vehicles or any other traffic signs placed in the city by order of the mayor and city council or public works directors, shall be deemed guilty of a misdemeanor and, upon conviction thereof, shall be punished as provided in the general penalty in section 1-4-1 of this code.
