For the purposes of promoting the public safety, health, welfare, convenience and enjoyment of public travel, to protect the public investment in streets, alleys, utilities, and to preserve and enhance the scenic beauty of the city, it is declared by the city council to be in the public interest and for public health and safety purposes to prohibit the establishment, operation and maintenance of junkyards within the city. The city council finds and declares that junkyards in the city are public nuisances. (Ord. 617, 11-8-1999)
