A Zoning Board of Appeals is hereby established. The word BOARD when used in this subchapter shall be construed to mean the Zoning Board of Appeals. The said Board of Appeals shall consist of the President and the duly elected Board of Trustees of the village. The members of said Board of Appeals shall serve for as long as they are a Trustee or President of the village. One of the members of the Board of Appeals shall be designated by the President, with the consent of the Village Board of Trustees, as Chairperson of the said Board of Appeals, and shall hold his or her office as Chairperson until his or her successor is appointed. The Chairperson, or in his or her absence, the acting Chairperson, may administer oaths and compel the attendance of witnesses.
