Unless otherwise specified in this code, the Village Police Chief shall be responsible for the enforcement and the observance of the provisions of this code and all state laws applicable in the village. The Village Police Chief shall also perform whatever duties the President and the Village Board shall prescribe from time to time for the preservation of the public peace and the observance and enforcement of the provisions of this code. The Village Police Chief and all duly appointed deputies are hereby declared to be conservators of the peace.
