§ 31.55 VILLAGE POLICE CHIEF.
   There shall be appointed by the President and approved by the Board for the village a chief of police who shall be a citizen of the United States and who shall have resided in the area at least one year prior to his or her selection, who shall hold office at the pleasure of the President and the Board of Trustees.
