The ordinance amended the Charter as follows.
BE IT ORDAINED by the Town Council of the Town of RUTHERFORD COLLEGE:
SECTION 1. Pursuant to General Statute 160A-102, the Charter of the Town of Rutherford College as set forth in Chapter 452 of the 1977 Session Laws of North Carolina, entitled: AN ACT TO INCORPORATE THE TOWN OF RUTHERFORD COLLEGE IN BURKE COUNTY, NORTH CAROLINA, as amended is hereby further amended to provide that the Town shall operate under the MAYOR/COUNCIL Form of Government in accordance with General Statute, 160A-101(9)(a), and any Charter provisions not in conflict therewith.
SECTION 2. Subject to any referendum Petitioned for and conducted pursuant to General Statute 160A-103, this Ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after the 3rd day of May, 1993.
