The consumer shall be responsible for the prompt repair of all leaks occurring from the meter setting to his or her residence regardless of meter location. Service may be discontinued when, at the discretion of the utility, leaks occurring behind the meter but ahead of the curb cock are not repaired within five days after the consumer has been duly notified of the leak by the utility. Service may be discontinued at any time when the nature of the leak is such as to create a health hazard or a traffic hazard or when, in the opinion of the Superintendent, it adversely affects the regular operation of the system. The utility reserves the right to discontinue service due to emergency reasons, whether caused by the landowner, tenant or other person or entity using the city services for any emergency reason as determined by the Utility Superintendent. Connection may be re-established by the Water Superintendent upon completion of steps necessary to rectify the problem.
