All sidewalks and curbs constructed within the corporate limits of the city shall be constructed under the supervision of and subject to the inspection of the city engineer and in conformity with the standard specifications herewith outlined in this chapter and the lines and grades laid out on the ground by said engineer. Stakes set by the city engineer shall be preserved by the owner and the contractor doing the work. (1960 Code, Sec. 6-109)
