8-1-1: POLICE DEPARTMENT ESTABLISHED, PERSONNEL:
There is hereby established a police department of the city. Said department shall consist of a chief of police and such patrolmen as shall be authorized by the mayor and council. (1960 Code, Sec. 1-801)
