From and after October 1, 1979, all claims for reimbursement by private individuals for authorized use of privately owned motor vehicles on behalf of the city, properly verified and presented to the city clerk, shall be reimbursed at the rate of eighteen cents ($0.18) per mile for each mile actually traveled. Said claim shall be presented and approved for payment in the order and course of city business in the same manner as payment of other open accounts payable by the city. (Res. 117, 9-4-1979)
