1-1-3: AMENDMENTS:
   A.   General Method: Any ordinance amending or repealing provisions of this code shall set forth the title, chapter and section numbers of the section or sections to be amended or repealed, and this shall constitute sufficient compliance with any statutory requirement pertaining to the amendment, revision or repeal by ordinance of any part of this code. All such amendments, revisions or repeals by ordinance shall be immediately forwarded to the codifiers, and the said ordinance material shall be prepared for insertion in its proper place in each copy of this code. Each such replacement page shall be properly identified and shall be inserted in each individual copy of this code. (2012 Code)
   B.   Amendatory Language:
      1.   Amendments to any of the provisions of this code should be made by amending such provisions by specific reference to the section of this code in substantially the following language:
That section          of the Village Code of the Village of Roxana, Illinois, is hereby amended to read as follows:
The new provisions may then be set out in full as desired.
      2.   In the event a new section not heretofore existing in the code is to be added, the following language may be used:
That the Village Code of the Village of Roxana, Illinois, is hereby amended by adding a section (or article or chapter) to be numbered as follows:          which said section shall read as follows:
The new section may then be set out in full as desired.
      3.   When the board desires to enact an ordinance of a general and permanent nature on a subject not heretofore existing in the code, which said board desires to incorporate into the code, a section in substantially the following language may be made a part of the ordinance:
Section         . It is the intention of the board and it is hereby ordained that the provisions of this ordinance shall become and be made a part of the Village Code of the Village of Roxana, Illinois, and the sections of this ordinance may be renumbered to accomplish such intention.
