(A) Any person desiring to engage in business in the town as a peddler/solicitor, shall make a written application to the Clerk-Treasurer for a permit at least three days prior to engaging in business. Such application shall include the following information:
(1) The name, address, and telephone number of the peddler/solicitor;
(2) The name, address, and telephone number of all persons who will assist the peddler/solicitor;
(3) The name, address, and telephone number of the person, firm, organization, corporation, or entity whom the peddler/solicitor represents or by whom the peddler/solicitor is employed;
(4) The length of time for which the permit is desired;
(5) The nature, character, or kind of goods, wares, merchandise, or services to be sold or offered;
(6) The place of residence and place of employment of the peddler/solicitor for the 12 months preceding the application;
(7) The physical description of the peddler/solicitor;
(8) A copy of the peddler/solicitor’s driver’s license;
(9) The description, make, model number, and license plate number of all vehicles to be used by the peddler/solicitor; and
(10) A list of the cities and towns in which the peddler/solicitor has worked during the 12 months preceding the application.
(B) After submitting a written application, if such application is duly approved by the Clerk-Treasurer, the peddler/solicitor shall tender a fee of $25 to the Clerk-Treasurer.
(C) After submitting a written application, if such application is duly approved by the Clerk-Treasurer, and tendering a fee of $25, the Clerk-Treasurer shall issue a permit to the peddler/solicitor that shall expire on December 31 of such year.
