137.02 SCHOOL CROSSWALK PROTECTION POLICE.
   (a)   There is hereby established a special police force in the City, to be known as School Crosswalk Protection Police.
   (b)   Each person appointed as a school policeman shall have the following qualifications:
      (1)   Be twenty-one years of age or older at the time of appointment;
      (2)   Furnish proof of physical ability to perform the duties of a school policeman as hereinafter set forth;
      (3)   Demonstrate to the satisfaction of the Chief of Police of the City that he or she has the ability to handle and deal with children of school age.
   (c)   Each school policeman shall direct pedestrian and vehicular traffic at the school crossing to which he is assigned, or such other duties as prescribed by the Chief of Police.
   (d)   The Chief of Police shall prescribe rules and regulations in regard to the organization of the school policemen, the hours of duty, the method of reporting hours of duty, and all other matters relating to the operation of the school policemen.
   (e)   The school policemen shall be on duty only when the City schools are conducting classes, whether during the regular school term or any other term.
   (f)   No person upon public streets and sidewalks within the City shall disobey the commands of the school policemen while on duty at his assigned station.
