137.01 PROBATIONARY OFFICERS.
   (a)   Appointment. The positions of probationary police officer are hereby created and may be filled pursuant to Charter authority.
   (b)   Uniforms. All probationary police officers employed under this section shall receive their first complete uniform free of charge at the expense of the City.
   (c)   Hospitalization and Medical. Hospitalization and medical insurance premiums for probationary officers shall be paid the same as for regular full-time police officers.
   (d)   School Cost. The City shall pay for all schooling at an accredited school that is required by State law or any schooling recommended by Council.
   (e)   Period of Probation; Review. All probationary police officers shall be subject to a one year probationary period. The probationary status shall be reviewed at six months.
   (f)   Work Week. The regular work week of a probationary police officer shall be forty hours per week.
   (g)   Promotion; Compensation. On promotion of a probationary police officer to a regular police officer, the officer shall receive compensation as determined by the ordinances of this City pertaining to compensation of regular police.
