914.10 DEPTH AND GRADE; UTILITY CONNECTIONS.
   Whenever possible, the building sewer shall be brought to the building at an elevation below the basement floor. No building sewer shall be laid parallel to and within three feet of any bearing wall, which might thereby be weakened. The depth shall be sufficient to afford protection from frost. The building sewer shall be laid at uniform grade and in straight alignment insofar as possible. Changes in direction shall be made only with properly curved pipe and fittings. Any public or private utility service structure or line shall be maintained at a minimum of five (5) feet horizontal clearance between said building sewer and said utility, except for water lines which shall be maintained at a minimum of ten (10) feet horizontal clearance unless written approval is secured by person making application from the City Inspector. Any part of the building sewer that is located within 10 feet of a water line shall be constructed of cast iron soil pipe, unless written approval is secured by the person making the application from the City Inspector. No other utilities will be permitted in the same trench as the building sewer.
