The provisions of Minnesota Statutes 216D shall apply to all situations involving damages to facilities during excavation operations. Each registrant shall be responsible for the cost of repairing or the value of damage to any facilities in the right- of-way that it or its facilities damage. This provision includes costs for damages to boulevard amenities, such as trees, landscaping, irrigation systems and invisible fences, placed by property owners. It is the registrant's responsibility to provide immediate notice of such damages to the affected property owners. Each registrant shall be responsible for the cost of repairing any damage to the facilities of another registrant caused during the City's response to an emergency occasioned by that registrant's facilities.
