§ 34.03 CHIEF OF POLICE.
   (A)   The Chief of Police shall supervise the Police Department, subject to control by the Mayor and regulations of the Board, preserve the peace by suppression of all disturbances and apprehension of all offenders, and enforce all police regulations of the town; see that all laws and ordinances adopted by the Board are enforced; and shall do all things as may be required of him or her by ordinance.
   (B)   He or she may make rules and regulations for the wearing of badges and uniforms so as to be readily recognized by the public as peace officers. He or she may authorize the wearing of plain clothes by officers on special duty. He or she may wear either a uniform or plain clothes at his or her option.
