(A) The Board shall, at its first regular meeting following its election and qualifications, elect a Town Attorney.
(B) The Town Attorney shall:
(1) Prosecute and defend suits for and against the town;
(2) Advise the Mayor, Board, or any officer of the town in regard to matters connected with the town's business;
(3) Attend all meetings of the Board when requested to do so;
(4) Draw any deeds, contracts, bonds, notes, and other legal papers as may be required for the proper conduct of the town's business;
(5) Draw all ordinances granting franchises; and
(6) Approve all ordinances as to form before their introduction.
