It shall be unlawful for any person to cut, break, obstruct, damage, change, alter, or otherwise interfere or tamper with any water pipe or water main or hydrant or water tank or any other thing being a part of the water works. Violation of this section shall constitute a misdemeanor punishable by a fine or imprisonment.
