(A) In accordance with the 2021 Edition of The International Fire Code sections 105.5 through 105.5.52 separate operational permits are required for certain operations or businesses that create an increased level of risk. These operations include but are not limited to:
(1) Hazardous materials;
(2) High piled storage;
(3) Amusement buildings;
(4) Exhibits and trade shows;
(5) Wood products >200 cubic feet;
(6) Mobile food preparation vehicles;
(7) Battery storage (all types - high hazard class);
(8) Motor vehicle repair garages (car & truck);
(9) Temporary membrane structures and tents;
(10) Tire rebuilding, storage of tires and tire by-products.
(B) Operational permits shall be obtained from the Romeoville Fire Department Fire Prevention Bureau. A special hazards inspection must be conducted before the permit is issued. Issued permits shall be kept on the premises designated therein at all times and shall be readily available for review by the fire inspectors.
(C) Operational permits are valid for one year from the date of inspection by a representative of the Fire Prevention Bureau and must be renewed annually. The fee for the permit and inspection is found in § 91.64 Fees.
