(A) It shall be the responsibility of each consumer at his or her own expense to purchase, install, and keep in good working order and safe condition any and all protective devices required by this chapter. The village shall not be responsible for any loss or damage directly or indirectly resulting from or caused by improper or negligent installation, operation, use, repair, maintenance of, or interference with any protective device by any consumer or any other person.
(B) It shall be the responsibility of the occupant or building/property owner to ensure the required annual inspection of the backflow device is preformed, as required, and a copy of the preformed inspection is received by the Public Works Department. If the device requires further maintenance or replacement, this shall be handled within five days following the inspection and the appropriate documents also forwarded to the Public Works Department.
(C) If a device requires replacement; the inspection report submitted for the new replacement device must also declare the serial number and size of the device that previously existed.
