The County Board of Health shall exercise a general supervision over the health of the village and over all places within 1/2 mile of the village, with the power and authority to use the necessary sanitary measures according to its judgement, to prevent diseases, to abate and prevent nuisances, on both public and private property, and to prevent the introduction or spread of contagious diseases within its jurisdiction and to establish rules and regulations for the sanitary welfare thereof.
