The members of the police auxiliary unit shall furnish their own uniforms and other necessary equipment, without reimbursement from the village, excepting only to the extent, if any, specifically provided for in the annual appropriation ordinance of the village. Identification symbols worn by such auxiliary policemen shall be different and distinct from those used by members of the regular Police Department.
