There is hereby created a commission to be known as the Ethics Commission of the county and Forest Preserve District of the county. The Commission shall be comprised of three members appointed by the County Board Chairperson with the advice and consent of the County Board. No person shall be appointed as a member of the Commission who is related, either by blood or by marriage up to the degree of first cousin, to any elected officer of the county. No more than two members of the Commission shall belong to the same political party at the time such appointments are made. Party affiliation shall be determined by affidavit of the person appointed.
