Within the time period stated in the notice to abate, the owner or occupant of the property where the nuisance exists may appeal the findings of the Code Enforcement Officer to the Board of Adjustment by giving written notice of appeal to such officer, such appeal to stay the abatement of the nuisance by the city until a final determination by the Board. In the event no appeal is taken, the city may proceed to abate the nuisance.
