1-7.5.    VILLAGE ADMINISTRATOR.
   A.   Appointment, Term of Office, and Removal.
      1.   The term of such appointment shall be for two years, but such term may be renewed on an annual basis thereafter upon receipt of a recommendation from the Finance Committee. The position of Village Administrator is not mandated, but is discretionary within the purview of the Village Board, so that appointments thereto and vacancies therein are determined by the Village Board from time to time, giving consideration to the needs of the Village in its management and operation. When the position is unfilled it shall not cause a vacancy as contemplated by Wis. Stat. s. 17.24.
      2.   The Village Administrator shall hold office for an indefinite term subject to removal by simple majority vote of the Village Board pursuant to Section 17.13(1) of the Wisconsin Statutes.
      3.   To fill the position, the Finance Committee and Village President shall recommend the appointment of a Village Administrator to the Village Board. Upon receipt of both recommendations in favor of the appointment, the Village Administrator shall be appointed by a two-thirds vote of the quorum of the Village Board present.
      4.   The Village Administrator is expected to provide 60 days written notice to the Village President and Village Board of the intent to resign from the position.
      5.   The position of Village Administrator may be held by the same individual as the position of Village Treasurer, if so appointed by the Village Board.
   B.   Orientation Period.
      1.   The orientation period for the position of Village Administrator shall be the first twelve (12) months following the date of appointment. During this time period, the Village Administrator will be afforded an opportunity to become acquainted with Village procedures and policies. Quarterly evaluations may be completed by the Village President and the Village Board with a final evaluation at the end of the orientation period.
   C.   Position Expectations.
      1.   The Village Administrator, subject to the limitations and further expectations defined in resolutions, policies and ordinances of the Village and Wisconsin State Statutes, shall be responsible to and under the general supervision of the Village President and Village Board.
      2.   The Village Administrator shall comply with all Village ordinances, rules, regulations and policies. The Village Administrator shall comply with all lawful directives of the Village President and the Village Board and perform the duties and responsibilities contained in the job description for the position.
      3.   The Village Administrator shall abide by the requirements set forth in the Code of Ethics for Local Government Officials and Employees set forth in section 19.59 of the Wisconsin Statutes.
   D.   Annual Review.
      1.   The Finance Committee shall review the performance of the Administrator each year in the month of June or as soon thereafter as reasonably practicable and shall report its recommendations to the Village Board.
