§ 72.06 LOAD LIMITS.
   (A)   Established. It shall be unlawful to operate any vehicle on the public streets and alleys of the village when the gross weight of said vehicle exceeds 10,000 pounds, from January 15 to April 15 in each and every year when the weight limitations for such streets and alleys are indicated by posted signs in the village, which signs are erected and maintained as provided in 625 ILCS 5/15-316(b), as may be hereafter amended; provided, however, that the President or his or her designated agent may by prior consent authorize the use and operation of vehicles in excess of 10,000 pounds on the public streets and alleys in the village.
   (B)   Restrictions. It shall be unlawful to operate a vehicle upon any street where the operation is prohibited by this section and where such signs of prohibition are posted, except that a vehicle may be driven on such street for not more than the minimum distance necessary for the purpose of making deliveries or picking up loads.
   (C)   Exceptions. This section shall not include pickup trucks, trucks operated by the village maintenance and repairs on the street or the operation of a vehicle owned by the U.S. government or state while on lawful business of these agencies.
