§ 72.04 STOPPING, STANDING OR PARKING PROHIBITED IN SPECIFIED PLACES.
   (A)   Generally. Except when necessary to avoid conflict with other traffic, or in compliance with law or the directions of a police officer or official traffic-control devices, no person shall:
      (1)   Stop, stand or park a vehicle:
         (a)   On the roadway side of any vehicle stopped or parked at the edge or curb of a street;
         (b)   On a sidewalk;
         (c)   Within an intersection;
         (d)   On a crosswalk;
         (e)   Between a safety zone and the adjacent curb or within 30 feet of points on the curb immediately opposite the ends of a safety zone, unless a different length is indicated by signs or markings;
         (f)   Alongside or opposite any street excavation or obstruction when stopping, standing or parking would obstruct traffic;
         (g)   Upon any bridge or other elevated structure upon a highway or within a highway tunnel;
         (h)   At any place where official signs prohibit stopping;
         (i)   On any controlled-access highway;
         (j)   In the area between roadways of a divided highway, including crossovers;
         (k)   In any alley that is open and maintained; and
         (l)   Alongside a U.S. mailbox.
      (2)   Stand or park a vehicle (whether occupied or not, except momentarily to pick up or discharge passengers):
         (a)   In front of a public or private driveway;
         (b)   Within 15 feet of a fire hydrant;
         (c)   Within 20 feet of a crosswalk at an intersection;
         (d)   Within 30 feet upon the approach to any flashing signal, stop sign, yield sign or traffic-control signal located at the side of the roadway;
         (e)   Within 20 feet of the driveway entrance to any fire station and on the side of a street opposite the entrance to any fire station within 75 feet of such entrance (when properly signposted); and
         (f)   At any place where official signs prohibit standing or parking.
      (3)   Parking a vehicle (whether occupied or not, except temporarily for the purpose of and while actually engaged in loading or unloading property or passengers):
         (a)   At any place where official signs prohibit parking; and
         (b)   In yellow zones.
   (B)   Moving vehicle. No person shall move a vehicle not lawfully under his or her control into any such prohibited area or away from a curb such distance as is unlawful.
   (C)   Parking schedules. Chapter 75, Schedules I, II and III of this code of ordinances shall list all applicable no parking zones.
   (D)   Truck parking prohibitions. No person shall park any vehicle, vehicles or trailer the length of which exceeds 24 feet or any Second Division vehicle licensed for an “F” classification or higher:
      (1)   Upon any street, alley or any public way within the village except for the purpose and time period reasonably necessary to load and unload the same;
      (2)   Upon public or private property within the village with the motor running for a continuous period in excess of 30 minutes; and

      (3)   Exemptions: recreational vehicles, campers, motor homes, boats and trailers may remain for the purposes of loading and unloading for a total amount of 72 hours.
   (E)   Trailers and recreational vehicles. A vehicle designed for living or recreation and not used as a commercial including, but not limited to, mobile homes, motor homes, travel trailers, recreational trailers, campers, boats, personal watercraft, all terrain vehicles, and trailers used to transport a recreational vehicle shall not be parked permanently or temporarily on any public street including in front of a residential lot by the owner or guest of the owner. In the event the owner of a residential lot does not have a driveway, such owner may temporarily park the recreational vehicle upon the street or roadway immediately in front of his or her house for a period not to exceed 48 consecutive hours provided that the parking is otherwise permitted upon such street or roadway.
