(A) If a check made payable to the city or any of its departments is returned for insufficient funds or because of a closed account, there will be a fee of $20 assessed, in addition to demand for the full amount of the check. If the demand for payment is not satisfied within 15 days, the check will be turned over to the County Prosecutor for possible criminal action.
(B) If a check is returned for insufficient funds or because of a closed account, the city will only accept a money order or cash payment for subsequent transactions with the city.
