§ 91.17 DISPOSITION OF UNCLAIMED ANIMALS.
   Any animal not reclaimed by its owner within three working days of impoundment shall become the property of the animal shelter and shall be disposed of at the discretion of the animal shelter in one of the following manners:
   (A)   Euthanasia, using a method approved by the animal shelter.
   (B)   Release for adoption, to a new owner who shows evidence and intention to provide the animal with humane care and abide by all laws governing animal control and welfare.
   (C)   Release to the environment. Whenever possible wildlife shall be relocated to their natural habitat. Wildlife shall be exempt from the three-day holding requirement, thereby permitting immediate release.
