(A) It is the purpose of this chapter to protect the public health, safety and welfare and enhance the environment of the people of the town by restricting open burning within the town and providing an application process for interested persons to obtain permission in advance for certain other fires.
(B) This chapter shall be enforced by the Chief of the town’s Fire Department, Town Marshal or other law enforcement officers within the town, acting on his or her own initiative or at the request of the Town Council.
