Metal markers or monuments shall be placed by an Illinois registered land surveyor at all lot corners, block corners, angle points, points of tangency or curves in streets, and at such intermediate points as shall be required by the plat officer. Metal markers, which may be metal pipes or rods, shall be a minimum of one-half inch (1/2") in diameter and eighteen inches (18") in length.
At least two (2) permanent reference monuments shall be placed at locations within each subdivision. The monuments shall be made of stone or reinforced concrete, being at a minimum three feet (3') in length and six inches (6") thick with a suitable centerpoint, except as otherwise may be approved by the plat officer. Such monuments, as near as possible, shall be placed so as to be flush with the established finished grade in a manner that they cannot be moved by frost.
All markers and monuments shall be set in the ground before streets and alleys are accepted by the village. The placement of all markers and monuments shall be the responsibility of the subdivider. (Ord. 2005-09, 12-19-2005)
