Upon the approach of a Fire Department vehicle, drivers of vehicles shall comply with the provisions of Section 9-3-19 of this Chapter relating to the approach of authorized emergency vehicles.
   (A)   It shall be unlawful for the driver of any vehicle, other than one on official business, to follow any fire apparatus in response to a fire alarm, closer than one block, or to park any vehicle within the block where fire apparatus has stopped to answer a fire alarm.
It shall be further unlawful for the driver of any vehicle to drive over any unprotected hose of the Fire Department without the consent of the Fire Marshal or the assistant in command. (Ord. 66-3, 5-2-66)
   (B)   No fire truck will be taken at any time from the District Fire Department unless the explicit and specific permission of the Fire Chief is given to the Village Officer or Employee needing and requesting the vehicle, and no vehicle will be taken or used except that specific vehicle designated by the Fire Chief or his designee. The vehicle will at all times be returned in exactly the same condition in which it was received from the Fire Department, and if the Fire Chief is not available, then the Village Employee, Officer, Trustee or Village President will contact that individual designated by the Fire Chief to give that specific permission.
