No person shall place, maintain or display upon or in view of any highway or right-of-way within the Village, including any parking area within such highway or right-of-way in the Village, any unauthorized sign, signal, marking or device which purports to be or is an imitation of or resembles an official traffic-control device or railroad sign or signal or which attempts to direct the movement of traffic or to control or limit parking, nor shall any person place, maintain or display upon or in view of any highway any other sign which hides from view or interferes with the movement of traffic, the regulation of parking, or the effectiveness of any traffic-control device or any railroad sign or signal, and no person shall place or maintain nor shall any public authority permit upon any highway or right-of-way any traffic sign or signal bearing thereon any commercial advertising.
Any such unauthorized device is hereby declared to be a nuisance and may be removed after due notice by any law enforcement officer, the Village Streets Department, or the Chairperson of the Village Streets, Alley and Ordinances committee. (Ord. 2017-10, 8-21-2017; amd. Ord. 2022-01, 1-3-2022)
