5-1-4: FIRE LANES DESIGNATED:
The Board of Trustees of the Village and/or the committee designated by said Village Board and the Chief of the Fire Department will meet and prescribe certain areas to be designated as fire lane areas within the Village. Said fire lane areas will be noted and mapped and said mapping will then be published in the Roanoke Review, a local newspaper.
Appropriate signs will be posted along the designated streets informing the public that these are emergency fire lane areas.
If at any time the fire lane areas are blocked in some way or fashion, the Fire Chief, acting through the proper authorities of the Village, is empowered to provide for the moving of any vehicles or other objects blocking such fire lane areas at the expense of the owner of said blocking vehicles or objects. The blocking objects will be moved and stored at the owner's expense at some place designated by the proper Village authorities of the Village.
Anyone found to be violating this Section of the Village Code of the Village will be guilty of a misdemeanor and cited as such. (Ord. 1979-9, 10-15-79)
