§ 98.07 PLANTING AND PROTECTION OF TREES.
   Under the supervision of the Director of Public Works, citizens may plant trees in front of and around their lots between the streets and the sidewalks; provided, they shall not plant any trees that are detrimental to the sidewalks or streets. No trees shall be planted in the streets or gutters. If any person shall cut or damage any tree upon the streets of the city without permission of the Director of Public Works, or shall dig up or injure, or shall tack or post any advertisement upon such trees, he or she shall be guilty of a misdemeanor.
