The ornamental street lighting system, consisting of a cast iron post, globe and dome in the style set forth in section 11-1-5, appendix C of this chapter, shall be preserved, operated and maintained as the only permissible form of street lighting standards allowable for commercial and residential streets and public park areas within this village. Said ornamental style of street lighting standard shall be used for both electric and gas lighting systems.
The board shall continue efforts to maintain a current inventory of the village street lighting system and to purchase and maintain on hand a sufficient amount of replacement ornamental standards and parts for use in the event of damage, destruction or other loss occasioned to one or more streetlights.
