The Village has, pursuant to authority granted by sections 625 Illinois Compiled Statutes 5/11-208.3, 625 Illinois Compiled Statutes 5/11-208.6, and 625 Illinois Compiled Statutes 5/11-208(f) of the Illinois Vehicle Code, instituted an automated traffic law enforcement system, which detects motor vehicles which fail to abide by red light traffic-control signals at intersections under penalty of a fine, and a system of administrative adjudication by which such detected infractions shall be resolved. The purpose of this chapter is to provide for fair and efficient enforcement of automated traffic law violations through administrative adjudication of such violations, and to establish a schedule of uniform fines and penalties and authority and procedures for collection of unpaid fines and penalties, all pursuant to the authority provided in sections 625 Illinois Compiled Statutes 5/11-208.3, 625 Illinois Compiled Statutes 5/11-208.6, and 625 Illinois Compiled Statutes 5/11-208(f) of the Illinois Vehicle Code.
