9-1-8: VEHICLE LIGHTS:
   (A)   When upon any public highway in the Village, during the period from sunset to sunrise, every motor bicycle shall carry one (1) lighted lamp and every motor vehicle two (2) lighted lamps, showing white lights visible at least two hundred feet (200') in the direction toward which such motor bicycle or vehicle is proceeding, and shall also exhibit at least one (1) lighted lamp, which shall be so situated as to throw a red light visible in the reverse direction of sufficient power, so that the numbers on the plate required by the laws of this State to be on the rear of such motor bicycle or motor vehicle, shall be plainly legible and intelligible at a distance of one hundred fifty feet (150') and no means for lighting said rear number shall be held or taken to comply with the requirements of this subsection, unless the light or lights with which the same is provided are accessible and controllable only from the outside of a motor vehicle, to which the same is attached.    (B)   It shall be unlawful for any cart, wagon, omnibus, cab, carriage or other wheeled vehicle of similar description, drawn by animal power, to be kept, used or operated upon any of the streets or public highways of the Village, from sunset to sunrise, unless such cart, wagon, omnibus, cab, carriage or other vehicle shall carry at least one (1) lamp showing a white light visible at least two hundred feet (200') in the direction toward which such vehicle is proceeding, and a red light visible at least two hundred feet (200') in the reverse direction, which shall be placed or fixed upon the left side of said vehicle and so as to be plainly visible and free from obstructions; provided, however, that nothing contained in this subsection shall be construed as affecting motor vehicles, bicycles, motor bicycles or tricycles.
