The statutory lien on any property for unpaid sewerage service charges may be enforced and foreclosed in equity by the Village in the same manner as mechanic's liens or other statutory liens may be enforced or foreclosed against and upon any property subject thereto; and upon foreclosure of such lien for sewerage service charges the property subject thereto may be sold and the proceeds of the sale applied to the payment of sewerage service charges as in the sale of property subject to mechanic's or other statutory lien upon foreclosure of such lien.
