8-2-22: CROSSING BY VEHICLES:
   (A)   Prohibited Without Permit: It is unlawful for any person to drive any animal-propelled or motor vehicle upon or across any public park or sidewalk within the Village (except where an approved driveway has been constructed) without obtaining a permit therefor from the Village Manager. (1965 Code, Sec. 24.31)
   (B)   Deposit Required: Any person desiring to drive upon or across any public park or sidewalk (except where an approved driveway has been constructed) with an animal-propelled or motor vehicle shall file an application with the Village Manager and deposit with the Village Treasurer the sum of one hundred dollars ($100.00) as security for the payment of any damage which may result to said park or sidewalk by reason of said applicant's use of the same.    (C)   Protection Required: No permit shall be issued authorizing any applicant to drive upon or across any public park or sidewalk with an animal-propelled or motor vehicle unless such applicant shall agree to place boards or other suitable material upon the portion of said park or sidewalk which said applicant wishes to use and unless such applicant shall comply with such other terms and conditions as the Village Manager may from time to time deem necessary to preserve said park or sidewalk and keep the same from being damaged.    (D)   Permit Issue; Refund Conditions: All permits issued under this Chapter shall specify the date upon which said permit shall expire and upon the failure of any applicant to repair the damage done by him to such park or sidewalk under said permit for a period of ten (10) days after such expiration date, to the satisfaction of the Village Manager, so much of the deposit made by him for such permit shall be used as may be necessary to repair and restore such park or sidewalk to its former condition, and the balance, if any, shall be returned to such applicant.
