8-2-2: HOUSE NUMBERING REQUIRED:
   (A)   Duty To Number: It is hereby made the duty of the owner, agent or occupant or person in possession of every building in the village except a private garage and other accessory building, to number it in the manner provided herein and as may hereafter be provided by ordinance. (1965 Code §26.02)
   (B)   Numbering Provisions: All lots or houses located on the following streets shall be numbered as hereinafter provided:
      1.   On streets running radially from the intersection of Longcommon Road and the tracks of the Chicago, Burlington and Quincy Railroad, from said intersection as a base, beginning with number one at said base.
      2.   On Northgate Court, North Delaplaine Road, North Herbert Road, North Cowley Road, Kimbark Road, Lincoln Avenue, West Avenue, Groveland Avenue, Golf Road, North First Avenue and North Forbes Road, from the north line of the right of way of the Chicago, Burlington and Quincy Railroad as a baseline, beginning with number one at said baseline and increasing toward the north.
      3.   On South Delaplaine Road, South Herbert Road, South Cowley Road, South First Avenue, and South Forbes Road, from the south right of way line of the Chicago, Burlington and Quincy Railroad as a baseline, beginning with number one at said baseline and increasing toward the south.
      4.   On East Quincy Street and East Burlington Street, from the easterly line of Longcommon Road extended, as a baseline, beginning with number one at said baseline and increasing toward the east.
      5.   On Northgate Road and Southcote Road, from the west line of section 25, township 39 north, range 12 east extended, as a baseline, beginning with number one at the said baseline and increasing toward the east.
      6.   On Ogden Avenue, from the west line of Harlem Avenue as a base line beginning with number 7200 at said base line and increasing toward the west.
      7.   On Ridgewood Road, Parkview Avenue, Waubansee Road, West Quincy Street and West Burlington Street from the east line of Section 35, Township 39 North, Range 12 east as a base line, beginning with number one at said base line and increasing towards the west.
      8.   On Harlem Avenue, from the northern Village limits of Twenty Sixth Street as a base line beginning with number 2600 and increasing toward the south. (1965 Code, Sec. 26.03)
   (C)   Numbers Per Mile: There shall be assigned to each mile four hundred twenty (420) numbers on all streets, except that on Harlem Avenue and on Ogden Avenue eight hundred (800) numbers shall be assigned to each mile as shown on the map referred to in Section 8-2-1. (1965 Code, Sec. 26.04)
   (D)   Numbers, Odd - Even:
      1.   The even numbers on north and south streets or streets running in a general northerly and southerly direction shall be on the westerly side of such streets and the odd numbers shall be on the easterly side of such streets.
      2.   The even numbers on east and west streets, or streets running in a general easterly and westerly direction shall be on the northerly side of such streets and the odd numbers shall be on the southerly side of such streets. (1965 Code, Sec. 26.05)
   (E)   Assignment Of Numbers: The Village Manager shall assign or cause to be assigned to each lot or building its proper number and shall inform the owner, agent, occupant or person in possession of such premises as to the number thereof at any time upon request. (1965 Code, Sec. 26.06)
   (F)   Size And Placement: Each of the figures of every such number on any building shall be not less than four inches (4") in height and shall be so situated as to be distinctly and easily read from the abutting street. (Ord. 1392, 4-16-1979)
   (G)   Changing Numbers: Whenever any house or building shall have been numbered or renumbered in accordance with the provisions of this Chapter, such number shall not be changed or altered without the consent of the Village Manager. (1965 Code, Sec. 26.08)
   (H)   Adjustment To Numbers: In all cases where numbers have been assigned on any street in pursuance of this Chapter of any ordinances hereafter passed, it shall be the duty of the Village Manager thereafter to adjust and re-assign such numbers as may be required from time to time and in all cases where there is a mistake or conflict in numbers said Village Manager shall direct and make proper adjustment of the same.
