5-2-10: AMBULANCE SERVICE FEES:
   (A)   Fees Established: User fees shall be paid for ambulance services provided by the Riverside Fire Department in accordance with the following schedule: (Ord. 2703, 3-16-2009)

   (B)   Collection Of Service Fees: All such persons who receive ambulance services as provided by this Village, who have medical insurance or government coverage for such services, shall promptly submit a claim therefor to their insurance company or appropriate government agency and shall, in addition, assist and cooperate fully with the Village in the collection of the said service fees from the medical insurance or government provider. In the event any person who received ambulance services from the Village receives compensation from a third party which is allocable to the ambulance service fee, such compensation shall be promptly forwarded by said person to the Village. Under no circumstances shall any term or provision of this section adversely affect the rights of the Village as set forth in the Illinois Health Care Services Lien Act, 770 Illinois Compiled Statutes 23/1 et seq., as amended, or any other similar statute.    (C)   Financial Hardship: In the event any person who received ambulance services is able to prove financial hardship, the Village Manager or designee may have the authority to waive or reduce the above mentioned fees. (Ord. 2973, 11-16-2017, eff. 1-1-2018; Ord. 4089, 3-7-2024)
