1-2-1: REPEAL OF GENERAL ORDINANCES:
All general ordinances of the Village passed prior to the adoption of this Village Code are hereby repealed, except such as are referred to herein as being still in force or are by necessary implication herein reserved from repeal (subject to the saving clauses contained herein), from which are excluded the following ordinances which are not hereby repealed: Tax levy ordinances and ordinances establishing all tax rates; appropriation ordinances; ordinances relating to boundaries and annexations; franchise ordinances and other ordinances granting special rights to persons or corporations; contract ordinances and ordinances authorizing the execution of a contract or the issuance of warrants; salary ordinances; ordinances establishing, naming or vacating streets, alleys or other public places; ordinances fixing the grades of streets and sidewalks; improvement ordinances; bond ordinances; ordinances relating to elections; ordinances relating to the purchase, lease, transfer or acceptance of real estate by or from the Village; the Zoning Ordinance, as amended; the Plumbing, Electrical, Fire Prevention and Building Codes, as mended, and as adopted herein by reference; the ordinance prohibiting the use of barbed wire for fences or barriers, approved August 1, 1972, as amended; the ordinance regulating the moving of buildings within the Village limits, approved June 14, 1914, as amended; all ordinances pertaining to the historic landmark description of the Village; and all other special ordinances and resolutions and administrative ordinances and regulations not in conflict or inconsistent with the provisions of this Code.
