1-5-2: ELECTIVE, APPOINTIVE OFFICERS; TERM AND TERM LIMITS:
   (A)   Elective Officers: The president and members of the board of trustees shall be elected in the manner and for the respective terms as provided by law. Pursuant to a binding referendum approved at the March 17, 2020 election, the terms of office for those persons elected to the offices of village president or village trustee at the consolidated election to be held on April 6, 2021, and at each election for such offices thereafter, are limited such that a person so elected may serve no more than three (3) consecutive full four (4) year terms in the office of village president, and no more than three (3) consecutive full four (4) year terms in the office of village trustee.
   (B)   Appointive Officers: All appointive officers of the village shall be appointed by the president by and with the advice and consent of the board of trustees. Their respective terms of office shall be as the president and board of trustees may determine or as otherwise provided in this code. Vacancies occurring before the end of any term shall be filled as in the case of the original appointment.
