3-1-1: DEFINITIONS:
The following definitions shall apply in the interpretation and enforcement of this chapter:
FOOD DEALER: Any business operating in Riverside regulated by title 7 of this code that is subject to a health inspection, including food related businesses, or such other fee as is currently charged to the village and published by the village.
LICENSE: A privilege granted by the village, after the fulfillment of all conditions precedent that are expressly provided herein, to engage in a business or a commercial enterprise or activity. Whenever the term "business" is used it shall include any commercial enterprise or establishment or any activity licensed or permitted under this title. Every license granted by the village pursuant to this title, and every renewal thereof, shall be purely a privilege, shall not constitute property, and shall not otherwise be construed in any manner to create any other right to or interest in such license.
OWNER: Any individual, firm, association, partnership, corporation, trust, or any other legal entity having sufficient proprietary interest in any establishment to maintain and manage its operation.
PERMIT: A privilege granted by the village, after the fulfillment of all conditions precedent that are expressly provided herein, to conduct a specific activity, usually of commercial nature and for a shorter time period than allowed under a license, or for a temporary period.
PERSON: Any individual, firm, association, partnership, corporation, trust or any other legal entity. (Ord. 2506, 8-16-2004)
