Every member of the police department shall wear a suitable badge, to be furnished by the village, and any member who shall lose or destroy the same shall be required to pay the cost of replacing it. Whenever any member of the department shall leave, resign, be suspended or discharged, he shall immediately deliver his badge and all other articles in his possession belonging to the village to the chief of police.
